Wednesday’s court ruling which found against the apparent tyrannical regime of Liverpool’s owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, may finally be the turning point of their season. Their previous manager, Rafael Benitez, was much criticised for using that expression – after each positive result he would declare that the team now had a platform on which to build – only to return to form on their next outing and disappoint their long-suffering fans once more.
