Not an Old Football Shirt In Sight!
So here we are again, the silly season, new season, new shirt, that seems to be the crux of the matter. June and July, how do the football clubs keep turnover up?
Well, it seems to us that one way is to redesign the teams playing gear, change manufacturer, change sponsor, or just change the shirt. Either way, www.oldfootballshirts.com gets some new fodder in the form of last seasons cast offs!
Here’s an overview of the changes, who’s looking good for 2010, who’s made a pigs ear of it, well I guess that is for you to decide:
EPL Champions, Manchester United, lead off with a new shirt based on the design of a shirt from 1908. Arsenal have chipped in with a pair of quite classy new away and third shirts. So far Aston Villa are only showing a new away kit adorned with the charity Acorns across the front.
Blackburn Rovers keep the Red White and Blue flying high with tidy new home and away shirts. Bolton Wanderers have the surprise shirt of them all for 09/10, a striking number, maybe not to everyones taste. Chelsea bring us a new home and away shirt for the coming season.
Everton follow the idea of replicating an older style with their new home shirt, celebrating 25 years since their Cup Winners Cup triumph. There’s a new Liverpool away kit, as well as a dedicated European shirt for the coming campaign. Sunderland, with the loudest supporters of them all have a shiny new home kit, and Tottenham have all new home and away shirts. Wigans new Blue and White stripes is my personal favourite, and West Ham launch a new away shirt, with a home one to come.
With Wolves, Wigan and Pompey all yet to reveal their line ups, there is a massive choice, and that’s just from the Premier League!

Top that with new Ronaldo Madrid Shirts, a new Barcelona range, AC Milan with Beckham on the back, there is just simply a huge choice, for the fans and for the collector.
Here is a selection of the slightly more unusual offerings for the upcoming seasons, from the UK and Worldwide, take a look, and enjoy!
