Bangor FC shirts over the years

Just new to this interweb bloggy thingy so I’ll get started. Been supporting Bangor FC since Eye Wer a Lad but took time out to form and run an amateur league side. Football shirts were always my passion and I still have, in a well worn condition, a shirt first worn by Bangor in the 1969/70 season.

This was a cotton shirt made by Umbro and time has taken it’s toll. It was one of set of shirts donated to my fledgling team who could not afford a kit and after several season of additional wear, the kit was worn out – I’m so glad I kept one of the shirts.
Due to the donation, my club adopted yelow and blue as it’s official colours, with white (that’s another story) and have worn those colours ever since.
[EDITORS NOTE] It’s a far cry from the current Bangor shirt, modelled here last Saturday by Bangor defender, Jim McMenamin
While in recent years Bangor have worn Yellow as the main colour, in the past they have worn virtually every combination of yellow and blue, including an all-blue shirt with yellow cuffs and collars of similar material to the 1969 shirt which they wore when winning their first senior trophy (the Co. Antrim shield) in 1970.
