Player Sponsorship League table – 24/11/08

Monday, November 24th, 2008, 8:34 pm

Oldfootballshirts.com Player Sponsorship League table Season 08-09.

For a bit of fun I am running an Oldfootballshirts.com League table for the 4 teams we now sponsor. We’re doing this for the entire seasons league results only, we sponsor players kits for Brighton, Newport County, Annan Athletic & Bangor FC.

Updated 24 November 2008

A tough display from Brighton on Saturday, but Huddersfield left with all 3 points, a 1-0 win,  after Brighton just couldn’t get any luck, even missing a penalty in the second half (well, acutally it was well saved by Towns ‘keeper). Stockport away on Tuesday, a chance to make up some ground, though I think it’s the end of any aspirations The Albion have of promotion this season. On a better note, The Albion reserves, with our man Scott Chamberlain, had a good win at Hailsham in the Sussex Senior Cup match on Wednesday, 3-1 the score.

Newport County were in FA Trophy action, away at Andover, a 3-0 victory puts them into the next round, and a home tie against Rushden & Diamonds. Craig Hughes was back to goal scoring ways, with the third on 90 minutes!

Bangor went down 1-2 at home game against Glentoran, who proved their worth and came away with 3 points with a last minute winner.

A 90th minute Dean Fitzgerald goal broke Bangor hearts at Clandeboye Park today. Having taken a first half lead through David Irvine, the Seasiders could feel hard done by as they fell to Fitzgerald’s late winner after Gary Hamilton had levelled the scores just before half-time. (from the Match report by Neil Watson)

Oldfootballshirts sponsored players Andrew Plummer and Jim McMenamin had sound games, with Jim crossing for David Irving to score Bangors goal.

Annan Athletic had a tremendous victory, 5-0 against struggling Elgin. Ryan Adamson made the bench, but on this occasion wasn’t required!

Annan Athletic turned on their best display of the season to dominate this bottom of the table basement battle against Elgin City who on the day had no answer to Annan’s superiority. Only one goal separated the teams at half time but a whirlwind start to the second half saw Annan score twice in the opening 5 minutes to secure the match and eventually run out comfortable winners.(from the match report by ATI)

Bangor still sitting pretty, but a run from Annan would see them right back up there. Here is the table as it stands today;

At the end of the season the winning team will have the pleasure of oldfootballshirts.com sponsoring the matchball for a game next season.

It is amazing what football related stuff there is out their for sale, we’ve teamed up with Amazon for Christmas, and have found a whole bunch of stuff you can buy for your friends and family, all football orientated, hope you find something you like;

All the best
